SEEV4City: Smart, clearn, Energy and Electric Veicles for the City

PI: Prof. Ghanim Putrus / Richard Kotter. Co-I: Xuewu Dai, Eruopean Regional Development Fund (Interreg North Sea Region), 2018-2020.
The SEEV4City project is funded by the Eruopean Regional Development Fund (Interreg North Sea Region), 2018-2020. It is to investigate and demonstrate how the Information and Communication Technologies can improve the energy-transport system anddecarbon the eMobility by charging the electric vehicles (EVs) from locally produced renewable energy while utilising surplus energy stored in the car batteries, toward greeen city evelopment.
Project Aims
Led by the Northumbria University research team, the project consists of 11 partners, aiming at
- An increase in energy autonomy
- An increase of ultra-low emission kilometres
- Avoiding extra investments to make existing electrical grids compatible with an increase in electro mobility and local energy production

6 Operational Pilots
The SEEV4City involves 6 operational, long-term pilots in 6 cities in 5 European North Sea Region countries:
- Loughborough ‘Living Lab’ (UK)
- City Hall of Leicester (UK)
- Flexpower Amsterdam (Netherland)
- Johan Cruijff Arena of Amsterdam (Netherland)
- Vulkan Car Park of Oslo (Norway)
- City Depot of Kortrijk (Belgium).
