EFORES: Electric Fleets with On-site Renewable Energy Sources

featured.jpg

Abstract

In line with the UK’s target to reach Net Zero by 2050, one key area is the decarbonisation of road transportation, which is the 2nd largest carbon emission both nationally in the UK and locally in Newcastle upon Tyne. The key issue is to connect more renewable energy source (RES) efficiently with Electric Vehicles (EV) usage. This project investigates the issues of optimal dispatching and charging management of collaborative EV fleets to improve their efficient use and self-consumption of highly variable onsite renewable energy sources (ORES).
